I had a very pleasant night out last night at the Glasgow Pagans social moot. I didn't get home until some time after 1.00am. We talked about many things and had a good laugh at some of the insults on http://www.curufea.com/hero/doku.php?id=resources:latin_insults which I found on my phone by accident when I was actually looking for http://www.laptopsandpcs.co.uk/ Another social moot is planned for March 28th.

A problem arose with the venue for the Equinox Moot but that seems to have been sorted out. Now the next issue to tackle is the Glasgow moots Yahoo group. The current Glasgow list is limping along (as is Yggdrasil) as the list owner refuses to hand over the list to people who are active in the Glasgow moots while he is taking nothing to do with any of the moots. This continuing obstructiveness also means that an out of date moots website is still out there giving wrong information.

Apart from the list owner there is only one other moderator on the group and she is quite busy with other things. We have discussed the possiblity of reinstating me as a moderator along with others who are involved in the moots. But certain features, such as creating additional moderators, seem to be a function that only the list owner can do. I'm not a moderator because the list owner expressed the irrational fear that I would delete the moots lists when we split up. He removed me from being a moderator of these lists and then put me on moderation when I complained. Deleting the lists was furthest from my mind. What happened between the two of us should have remained between the two of us. In any case, his actions have been far more damaging to the moots lists.

He has been seen by many Glasgow Pagans in wifi spots with a laptop, so fixing the group lists and the website is not something outwith his capability. All of this petty and childish behaviour can only be construed as a case of throwing his toys out of the pram when he didn't get things to go his way.

I wonder what his gods think of all this dishonourable behaviour? (assuming he still has gods, and I'm not sure about that)

You could always start an alternative list. Write to the other list mod and see if she can get the membership list and/or spread news by word of mouth. Starting your own Yahoo list is easy. Other person just needs to grow up and realize the world doesn't revolve around him.

We are discussing starting a new list but we thought we'd try to give him the opportunity to show that he actually isn't the stubborn and obstructive he appears to be. It would be better not to have too many lists out there to confuse anyone who comes across them. But we'll have to see how it goes.

If the other list is defunct and nothing is being posted, a new list is probably the best way to go.

THe other list isn't quite defunct, it's still being used but not fully as the people who are interested in the moots don't have full use of it. He's been asked repeatedly to do something about it but he keeps refusing, or saying daft things, so we (a group of about 6, not just me) are having one more try to get it sorted. I do not know why he is being so difficult.
