A little local difficulty
Nov. 26th, 2005 07:49 amThe issue of the Pagan Federation and my problems with it has blown up again in recent days. I thought someone was asking for an open discussion on things that affect, not just PF members, but Pagans in general as the PF claims to represent all Pagans. However that appears not to have been the case.
What seems to have been forgotten is that when I volunteered to help the organisation I did so because I SUPPORTED it. I definitely didn't volunteer in order to cause trouble! I had been a member since 1987 and felt that I ought to offer my services, especially as I am involved in running local moots. I certainly didn't anticipate the response I got.
The problem I have with the PF is that it isn't open and democratic. The problem I encountered was down to the behavior of certain individuals who seem to want to designate who is an "approved" Pagan and who isn't. According to the lies told by certain people I apparently would have frightened people off if I had been appointed as a local organiser due to my "abrasiveness". Well, the moots I am involved with are still running, we've had Samhain parties and are looking forward to the Yule meal, so work it out for yourselves.
