Summers end

It's now beginning to feel as if we have come to the end of summer. Although most trees are still very green, I can see the chestnuts beginning to turn gold. On every fruit tree there are loads of apples, pears etc, and the brambles are turning black, ripe for picking.
The one good thing about having to work out in the wilds of Erskine is the woods surrounding the site. I make a point of going for a walk through them at lunchtime, even in the rain, which gets me strange looks from colleagues who mustn't allow even the tiniest raindrop to land on them!
But this cannot last. I feel as if I've had a bit of a vacation away from the city but now I really must try hard to get a job back within a sensible travelling distance. I haven't managed it so far, which is really annoying. The latest one said I didn't have "enough sales experience"! Well, duh, how much do you want? Haven't I won various awards for my sales, the latest being only last year? But I do not want my brain frazzled by admin, which is what this job is turning into. They don't want to move me on to another area as I happen to be good at navigating the peculiarities of the pricing processes that the Powers That Be seem to think are a good idea. I call them "barriers to sales" but they seem to like inventing more and more of them. They bore me and I do not see this as my role in life. I need a new job! And I need it now!
