James Doohan died today. He will be missed, as was Deforest Kelley and Mark Lenard. I was lucky to have met him in Birmingham at one of the bi-annual Star Trek conventions that used to be held at the end of the 70s and beginning of the 80s. I think it was 1983. I even have a photo of me sitting on his knee!

Strange thing is, I was convinced yesterday that I had missed the announcement of his death and was looking in various sites for it. How spooky is that?
