It's my birthday.

Well, today's my birthday. Things have moved on since this time last year and have certainly moved on various fronts.
The Glasgow pagan scene has really taken off, and I seem to be very involved in it (even if some people are deluded enough to think I'm "abrasive"). We're already underway with Samhain plans and we are holding a pagan get-together at Intersection, the World Science Fiction Convention being held in Glasgow this year. I'm also involved in giving a talk at Witchfest, amongst other things. There's at least 8 moots happening in Glasgow, that I am aware of. I try to keep my ear to the ground to keep up with what's going on.
This is the year when I cease to be a member of the Pagan Federation - if they don't want me, well, the feeling's mutual. And I really do not want to be a member of an organisation which has certain people making up stories about you behind your back while being nice to your face. Strange how a new membership card appeared in the post shortly after I wrote about tearing mine up. At least with the "abrasive" comment we now know where we stand, even if it was a very flimsy made-up excuse to turn me down. Perhaps they should try harder with the next person they do that to, and try for a more believeable one.
I've also started singing again. I spent five hours on Saturday with the Scottish Plainsong Choir, sight reading the music while trying to remember how to pronounce the Latin. It was hard work but worthwhile. This is for some concerts at Easter. Why is a Pagan like me singing plainsong? Well, why not? I like the sound of this sort of music even if I don't agree with the religion it belongs to.
