Random post on assorted stuff

I haven't been receiving any notifications from LJ about replies to my posts. I know there's been some maintenance but I would have thought it would be over by now. Nor have I been receiving notification of posts made by people on my f-list - until two crept through sometime today, out of date order. Ho hum, I suppose I can expect a sudden splurge in my inbox sometime later tonight.
I started my new job today. It seemed to go well but it's early days yet. I was on the phones by the afternoon and making more calls than might be expected at this early stage but it's made so much easier by having easy to use systems and a clear objective. It's business dress Mon-Thurs with Fridays being a dress down day. I start at 8.45am and finish at 5.00pm. It's fairly easy to get to so that I was home by 5.30 tonight. I like that. In fact, I could even walk as it's only about 2 and a half miles away.
Tomorrow night is the Resurgence of Trout which will be in its new home of the Edward Wyllie in Bothwell Street. The old venue is no more, having been transformed into a trendy city centre bar with no tolerance of SF fans or other "beardy weirdies". Never mind, the Edward Wyllie is a Wetherspoons pub, with a good selection of real ale, and Thursday nights are curry nights. I'm sure we can cope with that.
