Made a start

I started on my sweater. I decided to make a start on Sunday night only to discover that it's been so long since I last did any knitting that I couldn't recall how to cast on! I dug out my knitting books to help me but I did spend some time with a pair of empty needles staring at the diagrams. Eventually the penny dropped.

I cast on, did two rows, and then discovered I had miscalculated and was doing moss stich instead of rib so had to unravel it all. After going out for a walk I started again last night, in front of some of Virgin 1's Star Trek offerings, and I now have the beginnings of a sweater.

Tonight I will be at the Counting House for dark_kitsune's birthday. Tomorrow I must really start to pull together what I need for the Lanark medieval festival in a few weeks time as I will be going a-Viking.

I also must make a mention of Glasgow's Pagancon which will be on August 29th http://www.pagancon.co.uk/ It looks to be a very good day.

hi could you let me know when the festival is on as i am always looking for something to do with the wee man at weekends, good luck with the jumper, iam sure you could make some money from other people wishing one as well.

I have a sweater, ok the pattern and the yarn, sitting in my craft toom (read son's bedroom). It's been sitting in the drawers for 2 years. Maybe longer. Really should make it. I'll need it in a few weeks.

I have a red sweater just waiting for me to knit the neck and sew it together. It was originally a birthday present for my then husband, then it became an Xmas pressie, then back to birthday and so on. It's still waiting to be finished about 15 years later!

Dang! It's almost old enough to drink. LOL I don't have anything that old, thanks to the ex, but I've got some pushing that age.

I haven't knitted in so long I've forgotten what to do too! I do buy lovely yarn when I find it on sale for future projects so one of these days the yarn will get used...
