What I don't understand is this: everyone knows that this is essentially a reboot of the franchise. If having an improved and updated model for the Enterprise will bother people that much, why not just not watch it and pretend that the 21st century never happened and it's still the 1960s?
I know that the ship and other things are going to be looking a bit different. Based on my knowledge of Star Trek and clues from the trailers I think I have worked out how that is and I don't mind as it opens up all sorts of possibilities.
Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! BTW, apparently Star Trek fever has officially hit. Some of the local businesses are featuring trailers for the movie on their web sites in anticipation of the showing. It's like kids with a new toy.

And I am so looking forward to it!
