I got a 44 bus back from Trout last night. That's the one that takes the scenic route past the river Cart if I choose to stay on for a few more stops rather than getting off at the Battlefield Rest in front of the Victoria Hospital.
I took the scenic route so that it meant I was walking towards the moon in the east with a bright star not far from it, going northwards. I wondered which star that was and looked it up using http://www.stellarium.org/ (although I had gone home determined not to switch on the computer). I discovered it was Capella. I'm really getting to like using Stellarium!
Today I began thinking about SF stories where Capella was mentioned. I discovered this list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stars_and_planetary_systems_in_fiction#Capella_.28Alpha_Aurigae.29 There's a lot more listed than just Capella so I'm going to take a good look when I have more time.
