Rowling apparently didn't realise Harry Potter was fantasy!
He also expressed surprise at Rowling's comments that she only realised Harry Potter was fantasy after the first book was published.
"I'm not the world's greatest expert," he wrote "But I would have thought that the wizards, witches, trolls, unicorns, hidden worlds, jumping chocolate frogs, owl mail, magic food, ghosts, broomsticks and spells would have given her a clue?"
I have to admit I am getting fed up of Harry Potter. It began as an enjoyable childrens book that could also be read and enjoyed by adults. Hoever, I feel that with each book there is more and more padding. The latest one has a lot of padding (quidditch games, exams, the dreary Dursleys, yadda yadda) with the real story points coming in the last quarter of the book. I feel JK Rowling is now just spinning it out to squeeze the last penny out of the story, and hasn't she made enough already?
I am also fed up of the nonsense from the evangelicals who get their knickers in a twist at the merest mention of Harry Potter. To these people I'd say "get a life", there's far more they ought to concern themselves with, if they really wanted to help people instead of doing them down.
