My parents were Methodist so I got hauled there. Then they hauled us to some other kind of Christian church. I usually attended Catholic church when left to my own devices or gave honor to the "others". I did the Wiccan thing and the Discordian thing (Hail Eris!) and then found heathenry which is what I was worshiping all along but didn't know it.
I was brought up with an awareness of everything and an open mind, so I worked my own things out. I found out later that it's a lot of Taoism, a bit of Buddhism and a smattering of Paganism, mixed with a healthy dose of realism. The only rule is No Deities.
I call it Neilism. I don't recommend it to anyone else. However when I reached an age and started hanging out with people where discussions about this sort of thing were happening I was genuniely shocked to find that everyone else didn't have their own ism as attempting to work out the universe for oneself seemed the most natural thing in the world to me.
