The Man From Uncle posters affair
Feb. 7th, 2012 07:55 pmI was having a quick look at the Radio Times this morning when I saw a picture of the Radio Times from February 1966 with David McCallum as Ilya Kuryakin on it. And it made me sad.
It reminded me of my bedroom back then where I had a poster of Ilya and a poster of Napoleon Solo on my wall. Not that I ever really liked Napoleon Solo but I guess the 2 posters had been found in the same magazine. My sister was one year old and had yet to develop the autism which took her away from the world. My mother used to bring her to see me in my room. One time my sister accidentally tore one of my posters and would say that she had been responsible whenever she was asked. She talked back then, it was when she was three that the autism closed in on her and took her away. She never really talked again.
Now she's gone, having died suddenly four years ago and my father is just over a year gone. And just this morning I wanted to be a little girl again with Man From Uncle posters on my wall.
