Beltane weekend
May. 4th, 2009 05:54 pmI've had a very enjoyable busy weekend, beginning with Yggdrasil Moot on the Thursday night, followed by the Paisley Beer Festival on the Friday, a Beltane ritual in the hills on Saturday, and a Beltane ritual in a local park on the Sunday. Today I took care of a few boring things, such as the laundry, before heading out to Braehead where I planned to buy a few things I needed in Sainsbury's as well as getting make up for Thursday's Star Trek showing at the IMAX.
Yes, the Vulcan is returning! But not in the uniform in my icon, not yet at any rate. More work needs to be done to enable that to happen. I will be wearing my TWOK uniform, the one with the maroon jacket. I'm going to be dropping in at the Equinox Moot on Thursday evening to meet up with
brenmacneil before we head off to Star Trek so that should cause a few comments.
I haven't bought make up for years so I was a bit shocked at how much it cost. I was lucky that Boots were doing a buy two get the third free in their own brand so I managed to get my green mosturiser included in that. Now all I need to do is to ensure I can still put the make up on properly. My bottle of spirit gum has the lid stuck on, I wonder if soaking it in warm water will loosen it off? If not then I am going to have a problem with my ears.
I wandered into HMV on the off chance that they might have the soundtrack for the new Star Trek film. They did, so I treated myself and I'm currently listening to it. It sounds good but will have more relevance once I see the film. I do like the re-appearance of the Alexander Courage theme.
I took my camera with me this weekend and I have a few photos. I love gorse and it was out in abundance on the hills. I am also pleased that I finally managed to catch the bluebells in the park.
