Tell it to the Marines!

I still get stuff popping into my inbox from job websites as a legacy from when I was job hunting. Sometime I take a look just to see if there's something that might be of interest. Today's offering from Monster, though, was a bit.....odd.

Does the Royal Navy really need me? Do they have callcentres onboard their ships doing outbound calling on IT and telecoms kit? Will the next major sea battle be between the Royal Navy telemarketing department and a pirate outfit offering fake Dell and HP laptops? Will we see the Royal Navy telemarketers parading at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, headsets ready to go?

I know I used to sell Phasers http://www.xerox.com/index/engb.html but I'm all at sea with this one.

Writer's Block: AKA

[Error: unknown template qotd]

I was a member of the Principality of the Far Isles http://cunnan.sca.org.au/wiki/Far_Isles when I lived in London. I had to create a persona so came up with the character of Rhionnach Olafsdottir, from 10th century Galloway. This persona had a Celtic mother and a Viking father. At the time I had been reading The Copper Crown, the first written book of The Keltiad series by Patricia Kennealy-Morrison http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Keltiad. I took the first name from a character in the book, the spelling is slightly different but the name is essentially the same. When I became active on the internet I began using the name as my user name.
