More job hunting.

I didn't get the job I had the interview for last week. It all came down to me having a bit of a brain-fart and not remembering what my targets were, which "concerned" them. Did they think I stayed with my 2nd last job for 6 years because I wasn't good at what I did and didn't hit targets then? What about the sales prizes I won, or was that my imagination? I am a bit annoyed about this as it was a blip.

I had another interview today with a company which struck me as a bit strange, nothing I could really put my finger on, but who got rid of their telesales team after 2 years because they weren't "profitable". Er, how come it took them 2 years to discover this? They also had questions on their application form which I am not at all sure they are allowed to ask these days, such as "are you single, married, or divorced?" and "do you have dependants?"

I have, however, got a job in 2 weeks time which will pay the bills (just) but isn't brilliant. This gives me a bit of time to find something better.

I saw a recruitment consultant at an agency who seemed to have great difficulty in understanding the concept of being employed by one company who supply staff for call and contact centres to other companies. She managed to get it completely reversed, even though she let slip later on that she was talking to this company at the moment. She also had the annoying habit of interupting when I was trying to tell her something and then gave me a lecture on how it was unprofessional to have my CV with a number of agencies as it wouldn't look good to employers! Well, she's not the one who needs a new job fast, although I am sure I could do her job far better than she can.

In other news, my membership of the Association of Polytheist Traditions expires at the end of the month. Due to the very peculiar behaviour of certain people recently I think I will not be renewing it. I am not prepared to put up with personal attacks by certain people when I don't even know what set them off. Something happened within the organisation and I wasn't paying attention and not reading the lists so I don't know what but next thing certain people seem to have stopped talking to me because I somehow seem to have been implicated or something. I would appreciate honesty. If people have a problem with me then I would appreciate it if they say so directly to me and don't just snub me.
