Yet another horse slashing article
Nov. 16th, 2005 07:00 amPagans may be having a slightly easier time of it these days. There are still those who would react in horror were they ever to realise that there was a Pagan amongst them and I know that some people keep within the broom closet in heavily Christian areas. Generally people appear to be a bit more accepting of "alternative" beliefs. However, there are still those who would accuse us of all sorts of things based on the flimsiest of evidence or no evidence at all.
Take this article in the "Times", Horse slasher leaves stables in fear http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-1872308_1,00.html
Yet in a minority of cases there are clear links between the attacks and supposed witchcraft or other forms of satanic or pagan worship.
“A lot of it is very whacko stuff,” Mr McCarthy said. “One thing I always look for in horse attacks is whether the assault took place on a Tuesday.” This is the day dedicated to Mars, god of war, horses and sex.
Where is the evidence that it is anything other than some sick pervert? What is the "clear evidence"? They seem to have cobbled together bits and pieces from all over the place in order to put together a "theory" and put it down to "witchcraft or other forms of satanic or pagan worship". I seem to recall a case of horse slashing which turned out to have been carried out by the stable owner!
Mr Witheford is swift to point the finger of blame at New Age travellers in the Wiltshire area
Oh well, it must be them, mustn't it? Blame the strange people who live a lifestyle different from your own. Let's not try to understand them, they're Pagans and they eat babies, don't they?
