Tavistock Square
Jul. 8th, 2005 07:17 amI lived in London for 7 years. I used to work for a disabled charity who were based in BMA House at Tavistock Square so it was a very strange sight to see photos of the blown up bus outside it. In some photos you could see the white stonework spattered with blood up to the first floor windows at the main entrance where there is a blue plaque saying that Charles Dickens used to live in a house on that site. I understand that they treated casualties in the courtyard which I used to look into from my office window. I imagine that courtyard was very different yesterday to the peaceful garden with a fountain in it that it normally is.
