Banned? Or is it just LJ?

rhionnachI have just tried to post a comment in the LJ of someone on my friends list(about Famous Belgians) only to find that I am banned from commenting! Now, either LJ is playing up again or I have done something to annoy someone without my knowledge.
If I have I done something I would really appreciate being told what it is so we can sort things out. I can't email them, I tried but it bounced. I am puzzled. Is there any way to tell when you've been banned? Should you get a message other than when you try to post?
