How not to get lost
I made a discovery this morning. I can get maps sent to my mobile. This may not be news to a lot of people but I hadn't realised this was a possibility. I know about Google maps and all that. I also know how they have phantom streets and even phantom towns (http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2009/nov/03/google). What I hadn't realised was that Multimap will sent a url to your mobile which displays a map in your browser.
I am going to the Salon in Vinicombe Street in the West End to have brunch with a group of friends. I wanted to make sure I knew which street out of many I was going to so I looked it up on Multimap. It was then that I spotted the option to send it to my mobile, so I thought I'd try it and it worked. This will get around the problem I had last year when I was trying to find a particular place, thinking it was closer to Kelvingrove than it turned out to be. I had memorised the map (as I thought) but spend ages wandering around.
I'm looking forward to my brunch.
